It was a LEGENDARY Christmas time (Sorry, I’m a lil’ bit obsessed from TV serial “How I Met Your Mother”). After three days running celebration i was exhausted and couldn’t do anything more. On Christmas Eve we had a wonderful dinner with many korean dishes. We cooked Bul Go Gi, Daeji Bul Gogi (Korean Pork Belly), Mandu (Korean Dumplings), Dak Kang Jung (Korean sweet and Crispy Chicken Wings) and Bok Choy. It was successful and delicious, Daeji Bul Gogi and Dak Kang Jung were particularly loved. After having dinner we had an international Christmas eve Mass at KHG (Parish of Catholic University Students)-House. We sang “Indonesian” Silent Night at Mass. As always, after the mass we celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ together with a little feast, wine, punch, cookies, stollen, music, and conversation between us. We went home late at night, I think it was 2.30 am as i went to bed.

8 am in the morning, i was awake already, and went to KHG-House to prepare Indonesian Christmas Celebration at the night, Cooking, Decorating. The preparation took a long time ’til 3 pm. The celebration began at 4 pm with Indonesian Christmas Mass and followed with a dinner. I think, 30 – 40 people took a part on that celebration. After excellent Dinner, that we prepared this morning, there was an entertainment, games named Singing Bee, just like a TV programm in Germany. It was funny, but without audio equipment, it would be a disaster. The equipment was annoying because it took a long time to get those in active. And thank God, after many trial, we could use it and that night was nice. After games, we exchanged Christmas gift between us and at the end of the night Alex and Irene taught us how to do a ballroom dance, like Walz, Cha cha cha, Salsa, etc. I didn’t expect that many Indonesian liked to did this, because we did it until 1 am at the midnight. One more time we should get our home by our foot because there was no more tram available and that night was freezy. Before we went to bed, we got some hot tea and chatted a lil’ bit. I was in bed on 3 am.

This morning was good. I could sleep well and longer then morning before, but exactly on 12 pm at noon my phone rang all the time. All of my friend called me, asked for Lunch. It was many food left from the christmas eve dinner and christmas celebration yesterday. After Lunch we went ice skating, it was funny but cold. It closed our big Christmas Celebration.

img_48021It wasn’t a good Running. I could do better than this, although generally i ran faster than i ever did. I ran too fast at the beginning, then I didn’t have any energy for the rest of my run. It took 53 minutes and 54 seconds for 9,9 km.

Spaghetti Ai Frutti di Mare & Bruschetta November 15, 2008

1 Month has passed since I was in Rome, but our (Me and my Friends) Appetite for Italian food is still exist. Therefore we tried to make it by ourself yesterday night. It was successful, Spaghetti Ai Frutti di Mare tasted excellent and also the Bruschetta. We cooked just with fresh ingredients and satisfied with the result. We got 5 big full pan of them. Here I share my recipe for you.

Spaghetti Ai Frutti di Mare

For 3 persons

Ingredients:

  • 500 gr Blue Mussels, clean it up – Kerang Hijau, cuci bersih
  • 200 gr Calamari, slice it in Ring – Cumi-cumi, potong cincin
  • 200 gr Shrimps – Udang
  • 1 can Tomato Podomori – Tomat Kaleng
  • 500 gr Spaghetti
  • 1 bunch Parsley, chopped – Petersili, cincang
  • 2 Garlic clove – Siung Bawang Putih
  • Olive Oil “Extra Vergine” – Minyak Olive
  • Salt and Pepper – Garam dan Lada

Directions:

  1. Cook the Spaghetti like the Instruction on the package until “Al Dente”. Rebus Spaghetti sesuai petunjuk pada kemasan sampai matang “Al Dente”.
  2. Preheat some Olive Oil in a big pan. Panaskan minyak olive secukupnya diatas wajan.
  3. Fry the garlic until brown and put the tomato into the pan. Mix the parsley (put little bit by side for serving) with the tomato sauce, give salt and pepper and taste it. Tumis bawang putih sampai berubah warna lalu masukkan Tomat kaleng ke wajan. Masukkan petersili (sisakan sedikit untuk penyajian), garam dan lada lalu rasakan.
  4. Put the Mussels, calamari and  shrimps into the pan, mixed well, cover it with a lid and wait until the seafood cooked (the mussels are opened). Masukkan kerang hijau, cumi-cumi, dan udang kedalam wajan, aduk rata lalu tutup dan tunggu sampai matang (kerang terbuka).
  5. Mix well the cooked Spaghetti in the pan, give the rest of parsley on the top, and delicious “Spaghetti Ai Frutti di Mare” is ready to be served. Campur Spaghetti yang sudah matang ke dalam wajan, taburkan sisa petersili diatasnya dan “Spaghetti Ai Frutti di Mare” yang lezat siap disajikan.

Bruschetta

Ingredients:

  • Ciabatta Bread – Roti Ciabatta
  • Champignon, slice 1 cm – Jamur Champignon, iris 1 cm
  • Mozarrella Chesse, chopped – Keju Mozarrella, Potong kotak
  • Parsley, Basil, chopped – Petersili, Basilikum, cincang
  • Tomato, chopped  – Tomat, cincang
  • Olive Oil, Salt, Pepper – Minyak Olive, Garam, Lada

Directions:

  1. Cut the bread for 3 cm, put it on a baking tray and bake it in the 200°C oven until brown. Potong roti setebal 3 cm, letakkan diatas papan ofen dan panggang pada suhu 200°C sampai kecoklatan
  2. Mix the the half of mozarrella chesse and tomato with parsley and basil. Campur setengah dari keju mozarrella dengan tomat, petersili dan basilikum.
  3. Take the bread from the oven, put the tomato-mozarrella chesse on top of the bread. For another variation, put the Champignon on the top of the bread, after that the Mozarrella chesse. Angkat roti dari ofen, taruh campuran tomat-mozarrella diatas roti. Untuk variasi lain, taruh jamur champignon diatas roti lalu taburi dengan keju mozarrella.
  4. Give salt, pepper and olive oil to the bruschetta and put in the oven for another 10 minutes until the chesse melting. Bruschetta is ready to be served. Taburi garam, lada dan minyak olive lalu masukkan kembali ke dalam ofen selama 10 menit sampai keju mencair. Bruschetta siap disajikan.

Weekend at Nordweil with KMKI Karlsruhe November 15, 2008

It’s lil’ bit too late actually, but this occasion was something different and special. We spent our weekend together in a little village at the black forest. At night we made a fireplace and sang together, on Saturday we hiked through the grape plantation to a bigger village nearby. On the way we also picked the grape which hung on the plantation and took a photos for our funny story. Late at night we played together Wii, it was so funny to play the virtual sport. Also I had the opportunity to celebrate my Birthday, it was nice with indonesian food i made even though the chicken didn’t taste as good as i ever made. It was an interesting Weekend.
