Last Wednesday i had an excursion to the biggest chemical company in Germany BASF. Name BASF come from the company history and called “Badische Anilin und Soda Fabrik“. In the past they manufactured a chemical Product called Aniline and Soda. But nowadays Soda and Aniline are just 2 products from 8000 chemical products that they manufacture. They produce based chemical, intermediate product and also a special chemical upon customer requests. 95.000 employees in 170 countries are working for BASF and they have 150 manufacturing plant around the world. I was in the headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The headquarters and manufacturing plant was huge, it’s just like a village. In the Excursion we had a presentation and a plant tour. The Presentation told us about the company information like their history and business. One of the workgroups gave also a presentation about their work as a plant engineering. I found it was very interesting, because i would like to do my work in this field of work after i finished my study. At the end of the Excursion we had a wein tasting in the company wine cellars, i was so surprised that this chemical company have also wein cellars for their own brand of wein that i didn’t know it before. The wein were delicious, especially the sparkling wine(Sekt).
